Drive Spacer Washers – Penn 525Mag2

A drive spacer washer to fit Penn 525 Mag2 Reels.

This model suffers from problems with the star drag adjuster bottoming out on the side plate as the drag wears. This causes issues with drag tension, damages the plastic side plate and can make the retrieve very stiff under tension.

The simple cure for this issue is to make the drag stack taller by adding one or two of these stainless steel washers between the top metal plate of the drag and the one way bearing collar. This effectively lifts the mechanism so that clearance is retained between the star drag adjuster and the side plate when the drag is tightened.
